RUSSIAN TRADITIONAL ROAD-DOLLCondratjeva Anastasia Mikhaleva Helen9G formTeacher:Smirnova G.V. All schools have their own traditions. One of our school`s tradition is to meet foreign delegations. If you want to narrate something about your country you should know much about it`s culture, traditions and history. This year the delegation from Germany came to our school. We taught them to make the Russian traditional road-dolls. The road-doll is a traditional Russian doll which was given to a traveller for good luck. This doll protects a tourist in a long trip. It keeps him safe far away from home. An inalienable part of road-doll is a sac with coin, some corn and a part of red thread. The needed materials to make this doll are:- some patches of cloth;- corn;- red thread;- a piece of sintepon ( batting);- a pair of scissors ;- a coin. Firstly, take a piece of batting and put it into the white patch of cloth (it will be the doll`s head).Then take a red thread and tie it around our the doll`s neck. After that take a band with Russian traditional decor and wrap it around the doll`s head. Then take another piece of white cloth and roll it. It will be the doll`s arms.Tie the arms to the road-doll`s neck. The next step is making a skirt.Put the needed patch of the material on the doll and fasten in. Cut off the extra pieces of cloth under the skirt if necessary. Take the patch of the material to do the doll`s sac and put some corn, a coin and a red thread into it.Attach the bag to the doll`s arms. Afterwards tie a kerchief round the doll`s head. Now our road-doll is ready. Thank you for the attention!!
