Big BenThe famous clock Big Ben stands near the Houses of Parliament. Big Ben is really a bell. The bell is over two metres tall and chimes every quarter of an hour. Early in the morning you can hear it on the radio: “This is the BBC. The time is six o’clock.” And then you hear the deep boom of Big Ben six times.   River ThamesThe River Thames flows through southern England. It is the longest river in England and the second longest in the United Kingdom, behind the River Severn. Its lower reaches flow through central London, the river flows alongside several other towns and cities, including Oxford, Reading, Henley-on-Thames, Windsor, Kingston upon Thames and Richmond. London EyeThe London Eye is a giant Ferris wheel situated on the banks of the River Thames in London. The entire structure is 135 metres tall and the wheel has a diameter of 120 metres. It is the tallest Ferris wheel in Europe, and the most popular paid tourist attraction in the United Kingdom. Tower BridgeTower Bridge is one of the main bridges in London, over the River Thames. It is near the Tower of London, from which it takes its name. It has become a symbol of London.
