My great grandfather was born in 1918 and died in 2002. His name means «defender». He was directed to Leningrad as a sergeant. He got a lot of medals for his bravery, courage and ability to confront the enemy: Medal for the Defense of Leningrad,Medal for the victory over Germany,Medal of honor,Оrder of the Patriotic War, Commemorative medals. He was hardly wounded during the battle. We keep his orders and medals as a family relic. And we are proud of him.
