Welcome to Russia
The Russian Federation Russia (the official name – the Russian Federation) is the largest country in the world. It is also called Russia. Its total area is over 17 million . sq. km. The population: 147 million and official language: Russian. Major cities of Russia: Saint Petersburg , Rostov-on-Don, Samara, Omsk, Perm.

Moscow The capital of Russia is Moscow. Moscow is famous for its Kremlin. There are 20(twenty) towers in the Kremlin. A lot of famous theatres and galleries are in Moscow. The Bolshoi and the Maly Theatres are in the centre of Moscow in Teatralnaya Square. One of these places is the fairy world of the Yury Nikulin Old Circus on Tsvetnoi Boulevard( Цветном бульваре) It is really old, one of the oldest circuses in Russia.

The Russian flagThe Russian flag is sometimes called the IMPERIAL FLAG. It consists of three equal stripes of white, blue and red. In Russia the colours of the current flag symbolise : - white — frankness and generosity; (Белый - откровенность и благородство)- blue — honesty and wisdom; (синий - честность и мудрость)- red — courage and love. (красный - мужество и любовь)


The Russian National Emblem The Russian National Emblem is the golden double-headed eagle with a horseman (St George) on a shield on the eagle’s breast with a red background. Above the two heads of the eagle there is an historical crown. Now the crown is a symbol of the sovereignty both of the Russian Federation (as a whole) and of its parts (subjects of the Federation). The state emblem shows our patron saint, St George, who helped our country at times of war. It is the oldest state emblem in history and contributes to our country’s traditions.
