Презентация”The Pushkin Museum in Nizhny Novgorod” At the end of the summer of 1833, Pushkin set off to visit the sites of the Pugachev insurrection in the Volga and Urals region. Nizhny Novgorod was the first major stop of this trip. Pushkin stayed in the Deulin‘s Hotel, located opposite the Kremlin. Today near Minin Square (formerly Blagoveshcheskaya Square), in the building of the former Deulin‘s Hotel, a new museum has been created. The Pushkin Museum in Nizhny Novgorod is a Branch of the State Literary-memorial and Natural Reserve-Museum in Bolshoye Boldino. The Museum tells us that A.S. Pushkin spent in Nizhny only two days (the 2nd and the 3d of September of 1833). He wrote two letters to Natalia Goncharova. He told her about a dinner party in the Governor's house, about the city's streets and houses, the Kremlin, about the Makariev Yarmarka. And later on, the great Russian poet Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin, in his novel “Yevgeny Onegin”, referred to Nizhny Novgorod as both the birthplace of the great patriot Minin and the commercial center of Russia.
