The English National Opera, which is based at the London Coliseum Theatre, performs them in English. They take place each year from the end of July until mid-September with performances every evening. Music is a higher revelation than all wisdom and philosophy. Ludving van BeethovenDuring the Promenade season the floor of the Albert Hall is cleared of seating, and the audience may walk in this area in front of the orchestra ( or promenade) or just stand while the music is being played. They were founded by Sir Henry Wood in 1895.The Proms Musical FestivalsThe Edinburgh Festival of Music and Drama takes place every year in August and September. The Festival first held in 1947. it includes opera, ballet, music of all kinds, painting, folk-dancing, film and drama. The popularity of the Festival is great.
