It was founded by Yuri Dolgoruki . It is a monument of Russian history and culture. RED SQUARE It is the oldest and most his-torical square in the centre of the city. The name means beautiful. THE SPASSKAYA TOWER It is the largest of the twenty Kremlin towers. It’s 67 metres high. The tower is famous for its clock made in the 16th century. The minute hand is 3.38 metres long. . Poklonnaya Gora It is a special place in the history of Moscow. Napoleon waited on Poklonnaya Mountain for the keys of Moscow. The State Armoury It is the oldest museum in Russia. In its halls you can see the legendary Crown of Monomakh , the world’s largest collection of Russian gold and silver and the weapons, crowns and clothes of Russian rulers. Moscow Zoo It is a perfect place for children to visit. It has more than 5,000 exotic animals and birds. There are also fantas- tic aquariums there. The Tretyakov Gallery It is a unique collection of Russian art. Its founder, Pavel Tretyakov, began collecting the finest works of Russian artists in 1856. The Central Museum of Armed Forces It is one of the world greatest places to see military history. It was founded in 1919.There are 24 rooms showing the history of the Russian Army and Navy from the beginning of the 18th century until today. Yury Kuklachev’ House of Cats It is a unique place where cats and a dog are the only performers on stage. Cats are beautiful and proud animals, and here you can see their performances. The Ostankinskaya TV Tower It is a television and radio tower. It was build in 1967. It is the highest TV tower in Europe and Asia. You can see the wonders of Moscow from the viewing platform at 337 m. ST. BASIL`S CATHEDRAL St. Basil's Cathedral is one of the most outstanding monuments of Old Russian architecture. MOSCOW STATE UNIVERSITY Moscow State University is the oldest in Russia. The University was founded in 1755. THE BOLSHOY THEATRE It was built in 1824, this theatre was the second biggest theatre in the world. THE MONUMENT TO PUSHKIN Pushkin monument is installed in the Pushkinskaya Square. The monument was built in 1880. It was the first monument to a poet in Russia.
