L I M E R I C K S Учитель английского языка МБОУ СОШ № 129 г.Н Новгорода Пивоварова Тамара Петровна LIMERICKS ЧТО ТАКОЕ «ЛИМЕРИК» КАК ПЕРЕВОДИТЬ ЛИМЕРИКИ КАК СОЧИНИТЬЛИМЕРИК Limerick (verse), a humorous verse form, the subject of which is often nonsensical but the structure of which is strictly prescribed. This definite pattern consists of five anapestic lines. Lines one, two, and five contain three metrical feet, and rhyme; lines three and four contain two metrical feet, and rhyme. Originally, limericks were delivered orally and served as commentaries on manners and behavior. The term limerick (from a refrain in a popular song of the day "will you come up to Limerick") was first applied in the late 1890s to Lear's verse. Секрет перевода состоит в том, чтобы сохранить рифмовку, стихотворный размер лимерика, а также не потерять его юмористический характер. Нередко приходится менять «географию» и собственные имена, чтобы сохранить поэтическую форму и каламбур. КАК СОЧИНИТЬЛИМЕРИК Эдвард Лир побудил к к творчеству огромную армию сочинителей лимериков: Льюис Кэрролл, Г.Честертон, Джон Голсуорси. Лимерики в англо-язычных странах являются народной поэзией, часто организуются конкурсы на лучший лимерик. В первой самой длинной строке описывается кто и где жил да был « There was a… of…».вторая строка знакомит с какой-то интересной особенностью героя « Who…», третья и четвертая – короткие, они повествуют о неожиданных, а подчас невероятных событиях. Пятая строка – довольно длинная и самая смешная, она подводит итог и похожа на первую.Рифма строго зафиксирована: первая, вторая строки рифмуются с пятой, а третья с четвертой ( ААВВА ).
