Цель: Развитие умений диалогической и монологической речи.
Задачи обучающие. Повторить и ввести лексику по теме «Глобальные проблемы человечества». Развивать умения ознакомительного чтения и использование в речи тематической лексики. Развивать умения аудирования, диалогической ре и монологической речи.
Задачи развивающие. Развивать коммуникативные способности, логическое мышление, память и воображение.
Задачи воспитательные. Расширить кругозор, воспитывать толерантность, формировать умение слушать.
Тип урока. Урок чтения, письма, аудирования и говорения.
Оборудование. CD, DVD, компьютер, интерактивная доска.
Технологии: здоровье-сберегающие, информационно-коммуникативные.
Методы обучения: творческий, наглядный, частично-поисковый, рефлексия.
ХОД УРОКА
I. Орг. момент. Подготовка к работе, постановка цели урока, создание благоприятной атмосферы, введение в языковую среду.
Good morning! How are you? How are things going with you? I hope you are OK! Let’s start our lesson. Do you like the weather today? What a lovely weather we are having today!
II. Целеполагание (определение темы и цели урока учащимися). What do you expect to learn about? (I think the title means that we can tell what the weather is going to be from looking at the sky?)
III. Фон. зарядка. Tommy Trot a man of law, sold his bed and lay upon a straw, sold the straw and slept on grass to buy his wife a looking glass.
IV. Речевая зарядка. What an awful (lovely) weather we are having today! What do you think about it? What kind of the weather do you like? And you? And you? As for me … ? By the way, is anybody absent today? What’s happened? What a pity!
V. Koнтроль д/з. Now let’s check your home task. Imagine you are a survivor of the tsunami disaster. Act out an interview with journalist. Отвечают 3-4 пары.
VI. Предъявление нового материала.
Упр.1. Повторение, введение новой лексики и выражений по теме. Look at the pictures. What are these words in your language? (война, бедность, голод, глобальное потепление, исчезающие виды, загрязнение, бездомные, детский труд).
Упр. 2. Ознакомительное чтение. Read the texts, match them to five of the pictures. Which words helped you? (A – global warming – climate change, greenhouse gases, Earth warmer), (B – famine – too many people to feed, sending food), (С – poverty – child labour, everybody has to work or there won’t be enough food, support, children get an education), (В – endangered species – animals’ habitats destroyed, hunt, protest areas where animals live). На эл. доске – информация с ключами, учащиеся сверяют свои варианты ответов.
Упр.3. Аудирование с пониманием основной информации и использование в речи тематической лексики. Listen and match the speakers to the statements which global issue is each talking about. 1D – pollution, 2B – homelessness. 3F – global warming, 4A – child labour, 5C – endangered species? 6A – war. (Ключи на эл. доске, учащиеся сверяют ответы).
VII. Релаксация. And now let’s relax. You should listen to a song “Lorelei”. Текст на эл. доске с пропущенными глаголами:

There … place where we … to seek shelter
I never … that pain of the priest I would pay
You … me on with the cloak and the dagger
And I didn’t know
You … made other plans …
На доске глаголы в Present Simple: sail, have, share, use, know, lead, have, think, pass, promise. Ученики слушают песню дважды и вставляют глаголы в Past Simple.
VIII. Закрепление материала. Упр.4. Развитие умений диалогической речи. Поддержание разговора. Read the box. What are these expressions in your language?

Упр.5. a) Умение аудирования с выбором информации, поисковое чтение. Listen and read the dialogue. What do the following numbers represent: 2, 3, billion, 30 000. Which of the expressions in Ex.4 can you find in the dialogue? (amount of money in dollars that people leave on per day; 3 billion – number of people in the world living on $2 per day; 30 000 – number of children dying everyday because of lack of food and medicine/permanent home.
b) Монологическая речь (сообщение на основе прочитанного с эмоционально-оценочным суждением). What do you think can be done to end child labour? Can you think of anything you can do to help? Заслушиваются ответы учащихся (2-3).
Упр.6. Диалогическая речь (выбор правильного ответа в ситуации общения). Choose the correct answer. Listen and check. (1b, 2a, 3a)
IX. Итоги урока, выставление и комментирования оценок учащихся.
X. Д/з. Упр. 8, стр. 77. Инструктаж (Act out a dialogue).
