Warm – up
Non-stop writing T. turns on the song. St – s write about their feelings and emotions connected with the song, while the music is playing. 5-6 min Blank paper and pen for each student Whole group
Word explanation The students are given new words from the song. They place them face down on the table. Then one by one they take a word and explain it to the partner. If they have problems with the meaning they ask the t. to help. 10 -12 min Set of cards with new words from the song for each pair of students Pair work
Word Catch Students place the cards on the table face up. T. turns on the song. When st-s hear the words they have to catch it and keep it. The one who has more words wins. 5-7 min Set of the cards for each pair.
Recording of the song. Pair work
Gap filling The st-s receive the copy of the song with gaps and the set of words to fill in. T. turns on the song. When st-s hear the word they grab it and put on its place. 4-6 min Copies of the song with gaps and set of words for each pair Pair work
Song Order The st-s are given the lines from the song. When they hear their line they run in the beginning of the row, so the song is in order by the end of the activity. 4-6 min Lines of the song for each student. Recording of the song Whole group
Jigsaw song St-s receive the song cut into lines. The task is to put the lines in order. 4-6 min Stripes with the lines of the song Individual work
Sing the song All of the students sing the song 4-6 min Recording of the song Whole group
Two lines St-s stand into 2 lines facing each other, forming pairs. Each pair has 1 min to discuss their writing from the warm-up activity. In 1 min the 1st person from 1 line goes to the end and the whole line moves, so all of the st-s get new partners. 15-20 min Warm –up Writing Whole class
Chain story St-s receive words from the song and sit in a circle. Then they have to create a story, inserting the sentence with their word one by one. 10-12 min Words from the song Whole class
Press conference One student is encouraged to be the singer. Others are journalists asking the questions. 15- 25 min none Whole group
Reflexing on the lesson Teachers divide the lesson into stages and discuss it. 10-15 min none Whole group
