Цель: познакомить с празднованием праздника Дня Земли в России и за рубежом; развивать навыки аудирования, чтения, говорения и письма
Результаты: личностные – развитие мотивов учебной деятельности и формирование личностного смыслового учения,
- формирование учебно-познавательного интереса к новому учебному материалу и способам решения новой задачи,
- развитие этических и эстетических чувств, доброжелательности и эмоционально-нравственной отзывчивости, понимания,

- Представление темы: So today is a special day. Who can say why? What holiday is celebrated today? (Earth day – on the 22nd of April). Do all the countries celebrate it? What countries? By the way, do you know what the symbol of this day is? – The symbol is Jelly Jam, a make-believe animal, a people preserver, which helps us study ecology. So the theme of our conference is the day of mother-Earth. And we wish everybody to help people and nature and today you are welcome to our conference!
- Отгадывание загадок: When the planet is getting polluted the nature begins to change, it becomes unpredictable so one day can be sunny while the next one – windy and cold. But what is our nature? To answer this question we are to guess the riddles.
- Выполнение задания: There are lots of ways to help the environment. Let’s think all the things you do to help our planet. Work in pairs and match the words to their meanings to find out how to save our Earth. And then you are say what of these things you really do.
- Выступление учащегося: Earth Day is on April 22nd every year. What do people do on this day? Is it the only day when we can help the Earth? Now let's listen to our girl’s reports and answer her questions.

- Чтение стихотворений: Thank you very much for everything you do to help the Earth. You have prepared for the conference and made your own posters and Earth day badges. Now let’s listen to the poems about the Earth and Earth Day. I believe you are Earth day helpers and you take care of mother Earth.
- Аудирование с заданием: Now we’ll listen to a very famous song. But before it look at its title and tell please, what is it about? And do you know the singer? That’s great! So we listen to Michael Jackson and fill in the missing words.
- Песня: You must do these things every day, not just on Earth Day. We are the Earth and people everywhere can save the Earth. And our conference is at an end. I’d like Nastya, our rising star, to sing a famous song by Michael Jackson – “Earth song”. 
Инструктаж по выполнению домашнего задания: (WB – ex.4-6, p.64) Thanks a lot. Now I’m sure that you can save the Earth. For hometask you get a crossword and you should make up a story about our make-believe animal, Jelly Jam, using the given words and adding your own ones.
