- Good Afternoon! How are you? Sit down, please! Who is on duty today? What date is it today? What day is it today? Who is absent? How many lessons have you got today? What are they?
2. Phonetic drill:
- Today we shall speak about films and cinema. Answer my questions, please!

4. Now I’ll give you two texts. The first variant will read and translate the text under the letter A); and the second variant will translate the text under the letter B). I’ll give you 5 minutes to look through this text, and then we shall start to work!
A) Arnold Platt was born in Manchester, England, on 30 of July 1966. He wanted to be a movie star. In 1986, he moved to London, while he was living there he worked as a waiter in a pizza restaurant in Soho, near the headquarters of some big film companies. Eventually, he got a walk-on part in a film called «Road to Ruin». It was his first and last film part. He went back to Manchester. While he was living there he trained to be an accountant.
B) Jean-Claude Van Damme was born in Brussels, Belgium, in 1961. His father encouraged him to learn Karate. At the age of eighteen, he opened his own gymnasium. He won the European Professional Karate middleweight championship title. In 1981 he went to Los Angeles. He decided to work in films. He spoke no English and supported himself by working as a taxi driver and pizza delivery man. In 1985 he appeared in his first film.
