Тип урока: урок комплексного применения знаний, умений, навыков.
Цель: расширение общего, социального кругозора учащихся и развитие способности к взаимодействию и сотрудничеству в процессе решения проектно-исследовательских и проектно-творческих задач.
Образовательные задачи: обобщение и расширение лингвострановедческих знаний по теме «Великобритания», закрепление и отработка в речи изученных лексико-грамматических структур и формирование умений применять полученные знания на практике.
Развивающие задачи:
Развитие иноязычной коммуникативной компетенции.
Развитие речевой инициативы учащихся, особенно в речевых ситуациях, предполагающих творческие монологические высказывания.
Развитие интеллектуальной, эмоциональной, мотивационной сферы учащегося.
Овладение учащимися основными способами мыслительной деятельности (сравнение, анализ, обобщение).

"The languages and traditions of the countries of the UK"
"Языки и традиции стран Соединенного Королевства"
Тип урока: урок комплексного применения знаний, умений, навыков.
Цель: расширение общего, социального кругозора учащихся и развитие способности к взаимодействию и сотрудничеству в процессе решения проектно-исследовательских и проектно-творческих задач.
Образовательные задачи: обобщение и расширение лингвострановедческих знаний по теме «Великобритания», закрепление и отработка в речи изученных лексико-грамматических структур и формирование умений применять полученные знания на практике.
Развивающие задачи:
Развитие иноязычной коммуникативной компетенции.
Развитие речевой инициативы учащихся, особенно в речевых ситуациях, предполагающих творческие монологические высказывания.
Развитие интеллектуальной, эмоциональной, мотивационной сферы учащегося.
Овладение учащимися основными способами мыслительной деятельности (сравнение, анализ, обобщение).

Dear guests, we are glad to meet you at our lesson. Today we are going to speak about the country the language of which we study.
It is hard to imagine any other country having such rich culture and interesting history.
From the time the Romans arrived in England (AD 43) to the present days Great Britain has gone through different periods.
It all made great impact on the vocabulary, grammar of the language.
Warm - up activities
T: - What foreign language do you study?
SS: - We study English.
T: - Do you like the English language? What do you know about it?
SS: - English has become terribly popular nowadays. It is used everywhere and they say that English has no equals!
T: Where is it spoken?
Ss: Almost everywhere in the world.
T: Why?
Ss: It is the language of computer.
T: If you speak English you will be understood almost everywhere. And you probably think that you will understand people living on the British Isles easily.
- What language do people speak in the UK?
Ss: English.
T: It's right but to some extent.
I want you to listen to some pieces from songs in different languages
and guess what languages they are.

English is just one of over 2,700 languages in the world today.
