- совершенствование коммуникативно-речевых навыков через сравнение традиций празднования английских и русских праздников.

Задачи урока:
Речевая компетенция: совершенствовать произносительные навыки монологической речи, навыки аудирования и  письма.
Языковая компетенция: доводить до автоматизации употребление в речи лексических единиц  по теме  «Holidays in Great Britain and our country» и активизация в речи употребления времени Present Simple.
Социокультурная компетенция:  раскрыть своеобразие праздников и культурных традиций Великобритании и России.
Компенсаторная компетенция: развивать  языковые  догадки и воображение, творческое  мышление, память.
Учебно-познавательная компетенция:  развивать умение выделять основную информацию из прослушанного и  увиденного в сравнении традиций празднования английских и русских праздников.
Познавательный аспект: познакомить учащихся с традициями и культурой страны изучаемого языка на основе сравнения традиций празднования английских и русских праздников.
Развивающий аспект: развивать  психические функции, связанных с речевой деятельностью (внимание, способность к анализу и синтезу, логическое мышление, способность к выявлению языковых закономерностей, языковая догадка, зрительная и слуховая память,  фонематический слух).
Учебный аспект: овладевать основными видами речевой деятельности: говорением, аудированием и письмом.

Good morning. The subject of our lesson is “Holidays in Great Britain and our country”. Today we’ll compare the celebrating of Christmas and New Year’s Day, Mother’s day in Great Britain and in our country, Britain’s Easter and Russian’s one ,Victory Day - beautiful holidays which are loved by children and adults. We’ll have some guests from Great Britain, they ‘ll tell us some information about their holidays. Don’t forget to use the expressions and words we have learned. Please, be active, sociable and friendly to each other. Let’s start.

HOLIDAYS AND СELEBRATIONS
What is a celebration?
It is a joyful occasion for special festivities to mark some happy
event.
What is the difference between holiday, festival and vacation?
The words holiday or vacation have related meanings in different
English-speaking countries and continents, but will usually refer to one of
the following activities or events:
• A general leave of absence from a regular occupation for rest or recreation
• A specific􀂿 trip or journey for the purposes of recreation/tourism
• Official or unofficial observances of religious/national/cultural/other
significance, often accompanied by celebrations or festivities (public/
religious holiday)
So what is the difference between holiday, vacation and festival?
Holiday
Holiday is a contraction of holy and day, holidays originally represented
special religious days. This word has evolved in general usage
to mean any extra special day of rest (as opposed to regular days of rest
such as the weekend).
Festival
A festival is an event, usually staged by a local community, which
centers on some unique aspect of that community. There are numerous
types of festivals in the world. Though many have religious origins, others
involve seasonal change or have some cultural significance.
Vacation
In the United Kingdom the word “vacation” referred specifically to the
long summer break. The French term is similar to the American English:
“Les Vacances.” The term derives from the fact that, in the past, upperclassfamilies would literally move to a summer home for part of the year, leaving their usual family home vacant for countrywide holidays.
