Викторина “Merry Hour”
Цели мероприятия: Расширить кругозор обучающихся, посредством знакомства с традициями англоязычных стран на примере празднования Christmas, Halloween, Easter, Saint Valentine’s Day, New Year, Thanksgiving Day. Повысить интерес к изучаемому предмету, посредством внеклассной игровой деятельности; воспитывать уважение к другим культурам и обычаям.
Оборудование: рисунки с изображением праздников, раздаточный материал, презентация, ноутбук, сладкие призы.
ХОД МЕРОПРИЯТИЯ:
I.Организационный момент. Вступительное слово:
-Good day, dear guests! Good day, dear students! I’m glad to see all of you at our quiz party. It is devoted to different holidays, traditions, knowledge of words and proverbs. Today I’ve divided you into 2 teams: Tigers and Foxes. Also you’ll have an expert in your team, who will help you. Let me introduce our jury…The rules of the game are the following: for each correct task you’ll get 1 point or 2 points. Be quick while doing your tasks. Good luck!
II. Конкурсные задания:
1.-The first task is to write down the holidays on your cards. (Под картинками с праздниками подписывают их названия).
2. –Well done! Students, you know that soon we’ll celebrate Christmas in England. That’s why several tasks will be devoted to this holiday. The second task is to put the missing letters.

On the 31st of October, people celebrate Halloween. Halloween is one of the oldest holidays. Today, most people call Halloween as the season of costumes, parties. Children put on costumes of ghosts, witches, skeletons. They go to different houses and ask for the treat. People make lamps from the pumpkin and put it on the window. I like this holiday.
On the 25th of December there is the greatest holiday of all in England. English people celebrate Christmas. People decorate their houses. The Christmas tree is one of the main symbols of Christmas. Children write letters to Santa Claus. People give presents to their families and friends. Presents for children are in their stockings.
